Citizens Against the Pellissippi Parkway Extension, Inc.

Oct 2013

CAPPE Members and Friends,

Hope all is well. Please take the time to read about the following items below:

  • TDOT maps released to the public
  • The article about the PPE from last week's edition of The Daily Times "Weekend"
  • Follow-up about CAPPE-FEST

TDOT finally posted the "preliminary conceptual plans of the Preferred Alternative" to the PPE project website. These are the same maps that CAPPE asked a number of property owners to request from TDOT. Click this link to view the maps: maps of preferred alternative. If you cannot open the link or have questions identifying your property or places along the route, feel free to contact me at jayclarkmusic@comcast.net.

The PPE and CAPPE-FEST were the COVER STORY for a recent edition of The Daily Times "Weekend"! The Weekend editor, Steve Wildsmith, researched and wrote the story and did a great job presenting the issues related to the PPE. It was by far the most fair and accurate article that has been written about the PPE. You can read the article by clicking the title Highways Tales: Citizens Against the Pellissippi Parkway Extension stand strong against purported progress. Thanks again to Steve for his responsible and professional reporting!

If you missed this year's CAPPE-FEST, then you missed a great event! It was a success and we hope to make CAPPE-FEST an annual event.

A BIG THANKS to our caterer The Cafe at Southland Books and our sponsors: Harvest Towne Wine and Spirits, Southland Books in Maryville, and The Market in Maryville. Also, a BIG THANKS to the artists that played: Daniel Kimbro, Greg Horne, Jay Clark & The TN Tree Beavers, Jeff Barbra & Sarah Pirkle, The Lone Tones, and  Jimmy Davis. Here are the pics!

Thank you for your time and support to protect the rural character of Blount County! For more information about CAPPE and how you can become a member or donate to our cause, please click on the What You Can Do link on this website.

Cheers,

Jay Clark, President, CAPPE
